Time To Work!
I learnt something quite significant today.
First, let me say it's been a very long time on this space! I've missed being here. And I am so glad to be making a post this year. How have you been? I hope you are all doing fine. Welcome back!!
Now, shall we proceed? Thank you!
As I was saying, I learnt something significant today. How many of us have been in this shoe? Where people would be asked to come around to prepare for a program, and then we think more than half of the population will show up so we decide sit back at home and not join, or we may just join them later? Especially, in a situation where the population is quite large.
Do you know that most of the time we might be wrong? Who knows, perhaps others thought the same thing and also sat back at home? Then there's little of no body to carry out the task. In most cases, there's very little hand to work.
So, my fellowship was preparing for our Reunion and it's a very big program in which other alumni come from within and outside the country. There was a task, to prepare for the feeding. A lot of hands were needed for this and announcement had been made. I had no doubt that there would be a lot of people to help out. I was even thinking I may not find any work to do by the time I joined them later in the day.
To my surprise, I arrived only to meet less than nine people working. I thought within myself that what if I'd decided to stay back, thinking there's enough hands? Hmmmm.
What am I trying to bring out from all this?
When there's a call to work, instead of assuming others would do it, let us rise up to the task as if we are the only one available to do it. Let us do the work like it would not get done if we do not avail ourselves.
Most importantly, when it is the work of God, let us do it with all enthusiasm. We may not get paid because it is the Kingdom's work, but we have a reward waiting for us. Nevertheless, we need not do it because of the reward awaiting us, but because we love and honour God.
God help us all.
Shalom
